Nest Homeware puts a lot of effort into designing their cookware to not only be functional but also beautiful and well-balanced. They are committed to quality and proudly manufacture in the USA. Their cookware is cast and machined in Pennsylvania, then seasoned by hand in Providence, RI. They double season their cookware with organic flaxseed oil, giving it a gorgeous bronzy hue and providing solid protection against rust. Plus, as you use and care for it, the seasoning will darken over time, adding character to your cookware.
The cast iron process is not only sustainable and environmentally friendly, but it's also incredibly efficient. With minimal waste and only three essential elements - heat, sand, and iron - it's a model of eco-friendly production. The use of recyclable sand and iron, along with the efficient heat generation from induction furnaces, significantly reduces the negative impact on our planet.
Care:
A good cleaning and seasoning routine will keep your cast iron cookware performing its best. There are just three simple steps.
- Wash - Gently scrape off any food bits and wipe out any excess oil, then rinse under warm water.
- Dry - After washing, dry your lid entirely with a towel. Don't air dry.
- Oil - Immediately after your lid is dry and while it is still warm, add a few drops of oil and use a paper towel to lightly coat. Work it evenly, wipe off excess, and let it cool before storing. This thin coat of oil protects your lid from rust and adds to its seasoning.
